Before the LS, before the small block Chevy, one engine dominated the performance car scene. Powering everything from hot rod Model As to oval track race cars and Bonneville Speed Record Cars, the Ford Flathead is an iconic piece of motoring history. Tuners everywhere developed countless speed parts for the Flathead Ford and hot rodders happily used them to “soup up” their rides.
In the spirit of this golden age of automotive tuning, Bolide is proud to present our Ford Flathead Speed Shop! With Bolide’s Flathead Speed Shop, you can build a truly custom and unique 1/24 1/25 scale Ford Flathead engine for your hot rod, rat rod, Bonneville or vintage drag car build. We’ve accurately reproduced many of the most popular (and some very obscure) speed parts with stunning detail. That detail is the reason that Bolide Plastic Motorworks parts are used in multiple show-winning builds. The internal detail of the engine is suitable for painting and leaving unassembled for diorama use. See photos for details and options.
This kit includes:
-Detailed Flathead block complete with details such as: crankshaft, pistons, water passages, and valve springs
-Oil pan and separate starter motor
-Timing cover with timing gear detail
-Stock or aftermarket oil filler/breather
-Stock generator or aftermarket alternator depending on chosen intake configuration
-Belt and pulleys
-Your choice of cylinder heads, stock or aftermarket
-Your choice of exhaust, stock or aftermarket
-Your choice of intake manifold and carb/air cleaner/scoop configuration, stock or aftermarket
-Optional Frenzel Supercharger
In most cases, you can mix and match stock and aftermarket parts to configure your own unique engine. Some options require specific parts. For example:
-Optional Frenzel Supercharger will come with its own specific intake manifold
-Offenhauser dual carb intake will come with aftermarket low-profile alternator and finned oil filler
As with all of our resin 3D printed 1/24 1/25 scale model car and truck parts, this product is sold unpainted and is printed in grey resin. The resin we use takes paint well, but for best coverage and adhesion, we recommend a quality primer coat. Some sanding may be required for surface prep and removal of mild support marks.
